Your monthly benefit payment is calculated in the pre-tax, pre-insurance (gross) form. PERA can withhold, with your written permission, federal tax, New Mexico state tax, and after-tax New Mexico Retiree Health Care Authority premiums. If you elect not to have any of these items withheld, it is your responsibility to make payment arrangements with the appropriate entity. Please note that PERA cannot provide guidance related to tax withholding for your PERA pension benefit. PERA may also withhold any amount specified in a child support, spousal support, or tax levy court order.
A.You may change your withholding status at any time.
