Public Records Request
Any person requesting to inspect public records may submit a request to the PERA Records Custodian by e-mailing (PERA-IPRA-Requests@state.nm.us).The New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) requires specific procedures for making an IPRA request. Information about those requirements is available here:

IPRA does not require PERA to create reports or documents in response to an IPRA request.Additionally, an IPRA request is not required to obtain information about your own PERA benefits or account. For inquiries regarding your PERA account please contact PERA customer service at 866-678-0670 or by emailing
PERA-memberservices@state.nm.us.
If you are requesting information concerning another individual’s PERA account or benefits, please be advised that PERA member information and records are confidential or otherwise protected pursuant to NMSA 1978, section 10-11-130 (I) (2005) which states:
Neither the retirement board nor the association shall allow public inspection of, or disclosure of, information from any member or retiree file unless a prior release and consent, in the form prescribed by the association, has been executed by the member or retiree; except that applicable coverage plans, amounts of retirement plan contributions made by members and affiliated public employers, pension amounts paid, and the names and addresses of public employees retirement association members or retirees requested for election purposes by candidates for election to the retirement board may be produced or disclosed without release or consent.
In order to inspect a member’s file you must first receive notarized consent from the member on PERA’s release form prior to PERA providing the requested records The release form is available here: (attach general release and consent form).
